Beautiful Bella in pencils

Gallery – Lorna Beecroft, Artist

Lorna Beecroft lives with her husband, horses, and cats on a small hobby farm near the Pacific Ocean. Living in a rural area, she is surrounded by an endless parade of animals, everything from the resident ravens and bald eagles to raccoons, rabbits, and the diminutive black-tailed island deer. It is a love of both wild and domestic animals that fuels much of her choice of subjects and her art.

“Big Bailey” is a big, curious chestnut gelding. He exudes a softness of being that invites us in to enjoy time in his presence. His intelligence is reflected in his eyes and the fluid shape of his head and neck. His well-defined form and musculature quantifies his strength and physical abilities. He is ready for anything and filled with a quiet confidence.

“Miss Molly”

"Miss Molly"
“Miss Molly”, pencils on archival drafting film. Miss Molly is a beloved pet who clearly has wrapped her beings around her furry precious paws. She was intriguing with her beguiling stare and fabulous markings. To capture her essential beingness was the primary goal. To express the haughtiness in her eyes and her complete ownership of her space in the finished piece was the task to accomplish.

Lorna has received many awards, including “Honorable Mention” for “Alone She Ponders” in the 2022 Summer 555 Light Space Time Gallery show, “Special Merit” in the 2022 Light Space Time All Women’s” show for “Beautiful Bella”(chosen out of 1147 submissions from 30 different countries), and “Special Recognition” for “Nap Time” to name a few.
